This rare set is known as the first hockey set ever made. 1911-12 C55 Imperial Tobacco # 19 - Don Smith - BVG 4
Noted for the inclusion of the Georges Vezina card (otherwise known as the Holy Grail of vintage hockey cards), the 1911 Imperial Tobacco C55 set is truly one of the top two masterpieces of vintage hockey collecting. Sawchuk is one of the greatest netminders ever to play in the NHL. Enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1971, Sawchuk won the Vezina Trophy four times and the Calder Trophy once during his brilliant career. He played for the Red Wings during three stretches, totally 13 seasons.
