1948 Leaf # 026 - Bob Waterfield (RC) - Rookie - PSA 5
Waterfield, a graduate of UCLA and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was one of the greatest quarterbacks of his era. Despite his accomplishments on the field, he is perhaps best known for marrying Hollywood starlet, Jane Russell, who starred along with Marilyn Monroe in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."

1950 Bowman # 028 - Clyde "Bulldog" Turner - SGC 84
"Bulldog" was a great two-way player with the Chicago Bears, starring at center and linebacker. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966. He won four NFL Championships in a span of seven seasons with the "Monsters of the Midway."

1950 Bowman # 035 - Joe Perry (RC) - Rookie - SGC 84
A great San Francisco 49er, Perry was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1969. “The Jet,” as he was appropriately known, along with Y.A. Tittle, John Henry Johnson and Hugh “The King” McElhenny formed the “Million Dollar Backfield” in the 1950s.

1950 Bowman # 037 - Bobby Layne - PSA 7
Known appropriately as "The Blonde Bomber," Layne was one of the greatest quarterbacks of his time. Elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967, Layne is still a favorite among Detroit Lions fans. Interestingly, his 1951 Bowman card actually pictures punter Robert Hoernschmeyer, who wore the number 14.

1950 Bowman # 043 - Marion Motley (RC) - Rookie - PSA 7
Motley, a bruising running back weighing 230 pounds, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968. Depicted here in full action, this Cleveland Browns ball carrier was also a linebacker during the early portion of his career.

1950 Bowman # 051 - Tom Fears (RC) - Rookie - PSA 6
Fears is perhaps the only NFL Hall of Famer to have been born in Mexico (Guadalajara). Fears played his entire career in Southern California, first for UCLA in college and then for the Los Angeles Rams. Unbelievably, he was drafted in the 11th Round.

1950 Bowman # 052 - Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch (RC) - Rookie - PSA 7
Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968, "Crazylegs" Hirsch was one of the most entertaining offensive players in football history. He received his brilliant nickname from a sportswriter who saw him play in college, writing, "His crazy legs were gyrating in six different directions at the same time; he looked like a demented duck."

1950 Bowman # 097 - George Connor - BVG 6.5
George Connor was a fierce player during his day, starring on the offensive line and at linebacker for the "Monsters of the Midway." A graduate of Notre Dame, Connor was the Outland Trophy winner in 1946. He was enshrined in Canton in 1975.

1950 Bowman # 103 - Charley Conerly - PSA 8
"Chuckin' Charley" was the great quarterback of the New York Giants during their heyday in the 1950's. He was named the NFL's MVP in 1959, and appeared in two Pro Bowls. His # 42 has been retired by the New York Giants. Off the field, Conerly not only served in the Marines during WW II, but became the Marlboro Man in television commercials.

1950 Bowman # 105 - Eddie Price (RC) - Rookie - PSA 8
Price, a standout at Tulane, went on to become a great running back for the New York Giants. In his five seasons in the NFL, he appeared in the Pro Bowl three times. He was the NFL's leading rusher in 1951.
